Sorry for the lack of a post on Thursday last week, but I'll make up for it now! Yesterday (Monday) was my actual birthday, which I didn't celebrate with friends, since it also happened to fall on the Canadian Thanksgiving. I spent it with my family and boyfriend, which was perfect for me.
First we went out to a small little town for lunch, then wandered around for a bit, until it started to suddenly pour with rain. Unfortunately the rain still has not stopped, and my boyfriend had to walk home... One of us should really get our drivers license...
Anyway, onto the important stuff. Presents! My parents gave me a beautiful sweater, with a nifty belt and bracelet, along with a small book of poetry and a Chapters gift card. I'm sure they'll all get some good use. My sister bought me a nice water bottle, which will be useful for school. I'll stop buying bottled water now. She also got me a bag of skittles and some super comfy socks. My boyfriend got me a bluray Hobbit part two, which I'm sure will also get a lot of use, and best of all, Hyrule Warriors!
It's working it's way to becoming my favorite game ever! It's a lot of hack and slash, which is just dandy with me! So far we've mostly just been doing the main quest line, but there seems to be so much more to explore. The graphics are amazing, and the cut scenes are skippable. There's also the ability to upgrade your weapons, but we haven't really gotten far enough to play with that much. I'm sure it'll eat up a lot of my time.
Of course, tomorrow is back to school and regular life. I have a mid term in my philosophy class that I haven't studied for since Wednesday, so this should be interesting. I'll do some readings on the bus.
Maybe.

Thirteen Years Later
Finally! I am elated that I can finally post a review on Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This is the very first Zelda game that my sister and I played. This is the game that we named Link 'Zelda', because everyone has to do it at one point. This is the second video game that I ever played (Animal Crossing was the first).
I can't even be sure it was thirteen years ago. It might be fourteen, might be twelve. I was somewhere around seven or eight years old when my sister and I asked for a Gamecube for Christmas. Or, more like my sister had played Animal Crossing on a friend's Gamecube, then managed to convince me that I wanted to play it too. I should probably thank her for that, or else I probably would not have come to love video games as I have. Or, maybe I would have fallen in love with Playstation, or X-box. I'm glad it was Nintendo though.
If I remember correctly, I was the first one to turn Ocarina of Time on and play it. I didn't even manage to find the sword though, so I gave up, and later my sister found it. We struggled through the Deku Tree, somehow got through Dodongo's Cavern (I have no memory of this, so someone else probably did it for us), and eventually finished Jabu Jabu's Belly. It was magical to see Link all grown up. Until you leave the Temple of Time and suddenly REDEADS. It must have been years before we got any further.
Of course, the first few years we didn't have a memory card, so all of this was done over a few days, when we kept the Gamecube running constantly. I have to admire our dedication, and wonder how we even managed to turn it off and restart anew later on. Once we got a memory card, it was a breeze. Not that we really got any further. The Forest Temple was terrifying, the Fire Cavern was difficult, the Water Temple was impossible, and the Shower Temple was just one big NOPE. We never got farther than halfway through the Shadow Temple, at least not by ourselves. (Any time where someone outside of the family had to complete more than one temple for us doesn't count as actually completing the game.)
This time around, I'm proud to say that I actually beat Gohma myself. That's pathetic, I know. I suck at using the slingshot. My sister did half of Dodongo's Cavern and fought Dodongo himself. I did the whole Jabu Jabu's belly, including mini and full boss. I did most of the Earth Temple, while my sister fought the final Poe sister and killed Phantom Ganon. I did most of the Fire Temple, and my sister tried to beat Volvagia, but in the end I had to do it. I did the while Water Temple, but handed the controller off to my sister to kill the boss (who's name I cannot remember). I found the courage to do the bottom of the well, and later the Shadow Temple, while my sister beat Bongo Bongo (I did a rage quit after my first death). I navigated the Gerudo fortress, while my sister beat each of the thieves that strange up. I completed the Spirit temple and let my sister try the boss. She failed, and Twinrova became my favorite boss!
It seems like I did a lot, but my sister beat both Ganondorf and Ganon, since I suck at electricity ball tennis, and I did another rage quit after running out of arrows to fire at Ganon. So yes, quantity wise, I did most of the game, but my sister did most of the hardest parts. (Except for the Water Temple. God damned Water Temple.)
So this turned more into a review of my experiences with the game, but that's okay. That's basically what a game is, right? The graphics and gameplay don't matter, as long as you enjoy playing it. As you might have figured out, I've been playing it on a Gamecube, so although it's not the original, it's closer to the remake that just came out. I do believe the remake was made a bit easier in places such as the Forest Temple and the Water Temple, but that's just what I've heard. Either way, I'm happy to have played it in its original form.

Surprise!
I'm so proud of myself. I planned and threw a surprise party for my friend, without her finding out until the right time. I don't think this amount of planning will ever happen again in my life. It was hard.
So my friend went to Belize for school for about a month or so, when she came back about a week before her birthday. She didn't plan anything, so I decided that I would. I've always wanted to do something like this for a friend, mainly because I wish someone else would do it for me. The problem is, all my friends love having birthday parties, so they always start planning their own about a month in advance. I jumped at the chance this time, and despite everything, I don't regret it.
Alright, it really wasn't that hard, I'm just lazy. Originally we were planning on having it at her house, and just had to ask her parents to get her out of the house for an hour or two. But I'm so socially awkward, that I didn't actually want to talk to her parents. Not to mention, if she picked up the phone, I would have to come up with an excuse as to why I wanted to talk to her parents. So I had her cousin text her aunt (my friend's mom). However, it ended up that my friend was using her mom's phone, as her own wasn't working. In the end, we planned that everyone would come down to my house, under the pretense that my friend, her cousin and I would be hanging out. Luckily, her cousin comes over to my house more often that she goes to my friend's house, so there was no suspicion.
So they day came (Sunday), and everything actually worked out! Only one person didn't show up, and another person came late, both because of work reasons. We had a great time, or at least I did. The best part was the present we gave her, which I think was a bigger surprise than the actual party. We all went in together to buy her a Wii U. Her reaction was priceless. I wish we had filmed it.
Anyway, I'm done with planning for the rest of the year!

Super Mario Bros. Wii U
Wow, it didn't take me long to break my promise about posting on time. In my defense, the internet was down all of Monday and most of Tuesday. It finally came up right before I was going to head off to bed, and after two days of no internet, I had other things to catch up on. It was a horrible couple of weeks.
I just realized that I never did a review for Super Mario Bros. Wii U. It was a free game I got with this deal Nintendo is having. I bought the Mario Kart 8 and got a free download of one of four games. I picked Super Mario Bros. because it's great with one person, or with four. I needed a new game that I could play with friends, and this was perfect.
So far it's only been my sister and me playing. We're pretty bad... I've never been very good at Super Mario Bros, and I didn't expect this one to be any different. But I'm getting better! It took us forever to lean how to run, and we're still really bad at picking stuff up. On average we need to play a course at least three times before we get through it, and most often than not, it can take us up to ten, if not twenty tries. We've both over 20 restarts, and I'll admit, most of my sister's are because I accidentally killed her... But I'm getting better at that too! I don't bounce on her head in the game as often...
But it's fun. Kind of frustrating, but fun. The only other times I've played this game has been at a friend's house, so it's nice to have one at home that I can play for more than a couple hours.

Mario Kart 8
A lot of exciting things are coming up in the next few weeks, so look out for some real updates. Unfortunately, this week has been fairly slow. I did however buy a new video game!
Nintendo was having this amazing sale, where if you bought Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, you get a free game. The Mario Kart game is amazing. The graphics are better than just about an other game I've played. It took forever to load, but that's mostly because my internet is crap, and I hadn't done an update on my Wii U for months. Once in the game, it still takes a while between courses to load, but that's all because of the graphics.
The courses themselves are all really well done. They're longer than in the previous games, though many of them are similar. I can see pieces taken from the Wii or gamecube games, and I recognize some from the original game.
And the best part, which I actually thought would be the worst, is the anti gravity. The screen turns with the car, so you don't even notice, but it makes the tracks even more beautiful and interesting.
The flying, or gliding, is a little confusing. It took my sister and me awhile to figure out how it works, and even then it's a little hard to control.
And for my free game I debated for weeks on what to get. The options were Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, Legend of Zelda: Windwaker HD, and Wii Party U. I already have Windwaker, and Pikmin doesn't really speak to me, so my choice was between Super Mario Bros. and Wii Party. I eventually went with the Mario one, and it's loading now.
For anyone planning on buying this offer, I would suggest getting the hard copy of the game. It's a lot easier to load, and you'll have the code for the free game instantly. I had to wait until the next day for the free code, and I was freaking out last night, thinking that I wasn't going to get it.

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag review
For Christmas I got Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. The moment I got home from my aunt and uncles place on Christmas Day, I started to play it, but I only had a few minutes before we had to go out for dinner. I have to admit, I haven't picked it up since. And technically I still haven't picked it up, my sister did.
First thing I noticed when I was playing was how hard it was to control. Bare in mind that I'm playing on the Wii U, and at that people I was still getting used to the controls for that console. Not to mention the game starts on a ship in the middle of a storm. I managed to get to the helm of the ship and got a few cannon blasts off before I had to leave. It was difficult.
My sister started playing it yesterday, and she had a lot more luck than I did. Not only did she manage to bomb the shit out of the other ships, but she has figured out almost all the controls while wandering aimlessly around an island. She hasn't gotten much farther in the plot, but hey, learning controls is always the first step.
Of course I have to mention the graphics. They are stunning. The most beautiful from any game I've ever played, and that's including Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The movement looks natural down to the smallest detail. I'm not sure how easy it is to play now, but with so many buttons on the Wii U, I can't believe it's too easy. So it's beautiful, but difficult.
I think what I really want to do is play it on a different console. I'd have to learn the next remote, but I think any remote is easier than the Wii U.

I Have Too Many Addictions
Sorry for the late post, I was hoping that my professor would post the scans of our trading card poems. If she doesn't it won't be soon though, and since they were trading card poems, I traded them away so I don't even have pictures.
Anyway, onto a serious topic. I've realized that I might have a serious problem. I love too many things. Not people, and that might be the real problem. I think I give all my attention and affection to objects, games shows and movies. My last post was about my addiction to Star Wars, and in previous posts you might have seen my addiction with Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit, The Sims, Legend of Zelda, Nintendo games, and many other things. I've also lately gotten into playing Animal Crossing again, though the novelty is beginning to wear off now.
The good thing is, it appears with most things that if I get cut off cold turkey, like a season ends for a show, then after a couple weeks the addiction fades. For example, Once Upon a Time and Sherlock, I was addicted for the whole time that I was watching the show, but once I got to the end, I started watching something else and pretty much forgot about the old show.
In fact, I think the only movie I've been constantly addicted with has been Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit. That is how much I love medieval era movies. Star Wars comes a close second, but it's on and off.
But I'm sure everyone has these problems, especially this generation, who was pretty much raised by the TV.

Presents!
I completely forgot what day it was yesterday... Okay, that's not true. I knew it was Thursday, but it didn't click that I had to write a blog post. I'm still on vacation mode.
Speaking of which, I just got back from my holiday vacation! I had a whole five days off of work! It was glorious. When I went back, I was in a great mood. Now my legs are really store and I'm getting a little grumpy. But anyway, presents! They're kind of scattered around my room and I'm being lazy, so I don't want to gather them up to take pictures. You'll have to take my word that they're all pretty. This list is no order except whatever I can think of first.
1) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag for Wii U
2) Olive green scarf
3) two pairs of touch screen friendly gloves (Those seem to be popular this year)
4) Several pairs of socks (I love socks)
5) $50 gift card to Chapters (Already mostly spent...)
6) A spiced apple scented candle.
7) A Legend of Zelda calender (I'll probably take a picture of this later, since it's so cool)
8) A set of nail polish (I'm actually cutting back on my collection, but these colours are beautiful, so I'll keep them)
9) A black lace bracelet
10) A Dance of Dragons (fifth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series)
11) Numerous smaller things as stocking stuffers
And I know that there are a few things that I'm forgetting about, but I'll try to post them if I remember. I might even take pictures and post them at some point. But you know, I say things like that all the time. Just be happy that most of the time I remember to even post something...

Nerd Level +1
As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I bought a ticket to see Symphony of the Goddess, which is a Legend of Zelda symphony. It was last night, and I'll say now, it was amazing. I've had Zelda songs stuck in my head all day. I even thought I heard the Song of Storms at one point during work.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos. My phone was dying and I didn't want to risk the power running out. Especially since we ended up getting out of there half an hour later than expected, making me miss the last bus that would go past my house, therefore making me call my mom to ask her to pick me up. I owe her big time. She even picked me up from work tonight too, and I would have completely understood if she made me bus.
But back to the symphony. Almost instantly after entering the building, we got a picture with a girl dressed up in an amazing Link costume, complete with a shield (if she has a sword, she didn't bring it. I don't think that's considered safe...) Then during intermission there were a group of three girls dressed up. It took us a while to figure out what they were. At first we thought Poes, but Poes are purple, and they were either red, green or blue. Vanessa finally figured out that they are Poes, but from the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time. I with we had gotten a photo, but again, my phone was dying. (I'm currently searching Reddit for any photos...)
And that was pretty much it! It has really made me realize that I need more friends that are fans of Zelda... I'll just start forcing it onto my current friends.

I Feel Sophisticated
Last night I bought a ticket to go see a symphony. Not just any symphony, but the Symphony of the Goddess. It's Legend of Zelda themed, so I suppose it's really not that sophisticated. But hey, I'm going to go see a symphony, so I feel mature. So that's happening not long after my birthday.
And luckily I'll be working a lot to cover the price of the ticket. Actually, I can work one shift and pay it off, but I also have the Wii U and my new glasses to pay off too... But everyone is getting a lot more hours at work because we're training three new people. Unfortunately, they're all high school students, so that means they're only available nights and weekends, making it very hard to find enough time for them to work when we have people available that can train them. In other words, there are three of us that are experienced enough to train people, so we'll be working out butts off in the next couple weeks. But hey, money!
Other than that, nothing much to report on today. Tomorrow is my last shift before I get a couple days off, so I'm excited. Maybe by Monday I'll have more energy to be creative.

Money Money Money
I have something to confess. Last night, after seeing the Wii U Legend of Zelda Deluxe Bundle, I couldn't help but spend $300 on it. It looks amazing, and there are so many more games I can play on the Wii U that I can't play on my Wii Mini. But I can play all old Wii games on the Wii U, making the Wii Mini kind of redundant. I'm not sure if I want to sell it or not. I bought it for about $150 (If I remember correctly), so I could probably sell it for about $75, if not more.
In addition, I bought myself a new pair of glasses. They came to about $130, so about half the price that I would normally pay. They're from Clearly Contacts, so I used the First Pair Free coupon, and got a pair of $70 frames for free. They're similar to my current ones, but a little bigger, and of course the prescription will be newer.
All in all, I set my school fund back about $430. At least the shipping was free for both my purchases! I'm also waiting for something I bought in Disneyland, but I'm going to keep that as a surprise. I expect it to arrive in a week or two, so I'll post a picture of it when it arrives.

Interesting Facts and Misconceptions about Myself
So I really have nothing of importance to say today, nor has anything of much interest happened the last few weeks. So, let's make a list! Since I know a lot of people will judge someone by how the look, or just a few of their interests, here are a few lesser known things about me that some people may not know.
1) Yes, I am skinny. No, it's not intentional. When you see me, I am pretty much skin an bones. My wrists, knees and ankles are so skinny that I creep myself out sometimes. This is not a good thing! I am most definitely not one of those girls that starves herself to get skinny. In fact, I've been trying to gain weight so that I can give blood. There are three reasons why I am skinny though. The first is the biggest, and it's just genes. Both my parents were fairly skinny around my age, so I just inherited that. The second is that I'm a super picky eater. Fried food makes me feel sick and unhealthy, and I just hate the taste of burgers. So although I love sugar, I don't actually like the taste of some fatty foods. And the last reason is actually kind of ironic. I'm just so lazy that I would rather lie in bed for five hours straight than get up to find some food. I may be skinny, but I am far from being in shape. I also sleep in very late, so I don't tecnically eat breakfast, but rather brunch...
2) I am not a gamer! I've had about four or five posts highlighting my love of Zelda and Mario games, but that does not make me a gamer, and I don't pretend to be one. People just automatically think I am because I play Nintendo games. To be a gamer, I think I should at least own an xbox and playstation. I have rarely played on either of those consoles, and I have no idea how they work. So yes, I like some video games, but that does not make me a gamer.
3) I am a slow reader. I think I've mentioned this before, actually. I love to read, especially if you find that perfect book. But I do not tear through it lie most people would. I like to savour the book, and I also like to do things other than read. So I read at night, on the bus, while waiting for something, or when in public. but at home I'm pretty much always on my laptop or some other device. However, I love to collect books, and when I find a really good one, I will huddle up for hours and read it. Still, I am a slow reader. If I skip even one sentence, I pretty much have to read the whole paragraph again because it feels like I might have missed something important. This can be good when reading books for class, but unfortunately, most of the time those books are so bad that I zone out and don't even care if I'm missing something. (Remember, I'm a creative Writing student, not an English student)
4) I actually don't care much for Harry Potter... For some reason it seems like if you're a book worm, you need to love Harry Potter, as if it's some staple that you must read. I've read the books, and they were good, but I would never re-read them. They're just not really what I'm into. I didn't really get attached to many of the characters (only the twins, in fact. Not even Dobby) and the plot was simple. It had twists, but it kind of seemed like each book was planned on its own, and it was only until the last few that it seemed like Rowling had planned ahead with smaller details. Even the whole Snape stuff wasn't all that complicated... However, I did like the movies. Still not my favourites, but it's easier to watch all eight movies over ad over than re-read all seven books.
5) I actually do not like radio music, and I'm not trying to be a hipster by hating what everyone seems to love. It's just that all the singers, bands and songs are all the same. They sound like whiny little teenagers who makes up drama just so that they have something to complain about through song. All the songs are about how someone's boyfriend is a jerk, or how someone is giving up on love, or how everyone is pretty and the world is made of sunshine and rainbows. What is the worse is when the artist is singing as if directly to the listener about how he/she loves the listener. No! They do not love you! They love your money. This whole hate for pop music can also stem from my hate of teen drama novels, because they're so plain and too close to reality. I love fantasy fiction novels, and I love songs that are not based off of someone's real experiences, at least not too cliché experiences. I listen to bands such as Rise Against, Cage The Elephant, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Billy Talent, Anti-Flag, Zebrahead, Gob, Illscarlet, Muse, The Offspring, and Weezer. Although I do have a guilty pleasure in some Disney music (the more catchy ones, I don't care for slow music), and I do like several songs by Maroon 5, who have become quite popular.
So there you are, some interesting facts combined with some rants.

Sleep Deprived
((Note: This post was started on Saturday and finished on Monday. I'm too lazy to change everything to the past tense, so you'll just have to read it like a diary.))
I've recently realized that the content and intelligence in my posts has decreased immensely in the last few months. In fact, it seems to correspond with the same time that I got a job... Just saying, I'm tired. But hey, money!
Anyway, I was awake at five this morning to get to work. the nice thing about opening is that the roads are pretty much empty, making it much easier to drive there, and you rarely have a rush early in the morning... Unless it's a week day. Luckily, I normally open on Saturdays. I especially like the four hour shifts, because then I get off at 10:30. That's what I had today. When I got home, I promptly forgot that I had worked at all today, and when my coworker texted me asking if I could take her closing shift, I probably would have accepted had I not been throwing a party tonight. It literally took me about half an hour before remembering that I wouldn't have been able to take the shift even if I was free tonight.
But yeah, party! Now that I'm out of school, I have a lot more time to socialize. That means that I'll get it all crammed in on one day at a party. It's also a chance to see all my school friends, as I probably won't see them again.
---
MONDAY
The party was a lot smaller than I expected. Unfortunately, school may be over, but that just means more work. Several of my friends had to work, or had previous plans that couldn't be changed. Fortunately, I still had about five friends able to come. However, the times at which they were available to come were a little scattered. That means there was one person around 12:30 to 3:00, at which time another friend arrived. Since it was just one person an me by 3:00, we just played Zelda. Around 4:00 another person showed up, but she liked Zelda too, so we just kept playing. At some point we switched to playing Apples to Apples, then that just petered out as we started watching youtube videos.
All in all, it was a lot of fun. I learned how to ply Rummy! I might not remember how to play, but it was a lot of fun while I did remember. The only one friend was able to sleep over, and we went to bed around 1:30 in the morning... I was awake for about twenty one hours. Then I was woken up around 9:00, so seven hours of sleep. Let's just say that I went to bed fairly early on Sunday night.

I'mma Just Going to... Sleep...
As the title suggests, I am very tired. And as you might have noticed, it is very late on a Saturday night, which means that I missed my Friday update, and I apologize to anyone who freaked out (kidding). My excuse is work, since I worked every day from Saturday to Thursday, whether at Starbucks or the Museum. Then I had another Zelda party on Friday, and more work today.
I believe I mentioned in my last post that I got a job at Starbucks. Since it was my reading week, I was able to stuff all my training into one week. This also meant that I had at least 24 hours or trained work, then I also had another two days as a full worker. I think by the end of today, I've worked a total of about 42 hours... And yes, I did just add that all up on a calculator, because I am too tired to do simple math. Now I'm not complaining, far from it. I'm overjoyed that I have a job now, and it's a lot less stressful than I originally thought it would be. I have a pretty bad memory, so I was scared about learning all the drinks. Ends up a lot of them are very similar. I'm still not very good with iced or blended drinks, but I figure as soon as it gets warmer out, I'll get a lot more practice.
Anyway, on Thursday, which was Valentines Day, instead of going on a date or anything, I worked from 9:30 in the morning to 6:00, at which point my parents picked me up to drive me to a book signing done by Brandon Sanderson. I got in line around 6:30, and left around 9:30, so three hours in line. About an hour of that wait was either spent waiting for Sanderson to actually come out (it started at 7), then there was a Q&A and a very brief reading from the book (the famous first paragraph from the first chapter of each Wheel of Time book). The last time I went to his signing (a couple years ago), I was in line for about three to four hours. I had gotten there an hour late, so the line was huge. This time I arrived half an hour early, so that probably cut the wait down for about an hour. All in all, from waking up around 7:30 and getting home around 10:00, I had been sitting for a total of two and a half hours. Needless to say, I wasn't able to feel my feet for the rest of the night. Then to next day my right calf hurt... Just my right one.
Which brings me to my Zelda Party! (A lot happened this week, I'm sorry) Kyra dressed up at Tingle, so I dressed up at Link. Then we (Shaina, Brandi, Kyra, my mom and myself) went to Walmart... We didn't get as many stares as I thought, but if we don't end up on the People of Walmart, I will be very disappointed. Actually, I seriously think I will submit a photo myself. Although I just checked it out, and you apparently have to live in the states to submit a photo to that website. Dang... Anyway, we bought some post-Valentines Day chocolates and ingredients for home mad mac 'n cheese, then we lost my mom and had to wait outside for almost half an hour. One of the employees gave us a funny looks, then smiled, and another customer asked Kyra is she was an elf. I'll post pictures at the end of the post.
When we got home we played some Skyward Sword, then took some pictures, then played more Skyward Sword. In total, we played about ten hours, though about an hour of it was just when the game was on and we were out doing something else. Still... We started at the boss fight in the first temple, and now we're just starting the Ancient Cistern temple, so that's about two whole temples done, along with a bunch of other side stuff and preparation to get to the water temple, including the damned Silent Realm.
Okay, so the party was great. Only Vanessa slept over, but that was okay. We played a bit more in the morning, then she went home and I continued to just kind of wander around Skyloft... Then I had to start work at 5:15 and was supposed to end at 9:15, but I was closing by myself, and I ended up getting out of there at around 9:35... I'm hoping it will be a lot sooner on Tuesday when I have to close again. I was just paranoid that a customer will come and want a food item that I had just thrown out (because it's no longer fresh after a certain amount of days). So I waited a little too long and then had trouble wrapping all the food up, because I am terrible with Saran wrap. But still, it was only a little over fifteen minutes late, which is still almost half an hour sooner than I expected... And I know I will improve. I don't think they expected me to do an absolutely perfect job, as long as I did the import things.
And now I need some sleep. I have tomorrow off, which I will be spending reading my book for class. It's 150 pages long, which is funny because there's a chapter in A Memory of Light that is 195 pages long. I've been on that same chapter for days now (I had to take a break to start reading my school book, I'm honestly not that slow of a reader.) But it really messes with me, because when I read in bed, before going to sleep, I like to get to the end of the chapter. I still have, like, thirty pages to go until the end.
Anyway, here are some of the best pictures!

This is us at Walmart, Shaina was taking the photo.
This is the most bad-ass I have ever looks. And yes, that is a sock sewn to my back. I use it as a sheathe for my sword.
I was trying to imitate how Link runs in Skyward Sword when you don't put his sword away and you hold the wii remote upwards. Then Tingle started to either imitate me, or wanted to hit me...
Tingle trying to be as Awesome as Link
The Tingle smolder
The Lazy Tingle. It was a little too late, but we should have brought a bottle of beer for her to hold.
And then just a quick photo of me at the book signing
I know there are more photos, but I can't seem to find them while stalking people's pictures on Facebook. I don't own a camera, so I only have one photo on my phone, which I'm too lazy to get off of it.

Christmas Zelda
Sorry for the late post, but I was having a party yesterday, and didn't have time to blog about it. But I have a bit of time between cleaning up from last night and when our next guests arrive.
At noon, Kyra and Brandi showed up, and it was around this time that we found out that the Wii is broken. Luckily, I also have a Gamecube, so we set that up. It's not in much better shape, since you have to spin the disk then close the lid fast and hope that it keeps going. But we got it working, and started playing the very first Legend of Zelda game. It was adorable, but harder in some parts than other. The most annoying was that your heart containers don't fill up easily. However, if they are full, you can shoot laser swords, that makes up for everything. And of course, the graphics are terrible, so what is supposed to look like a monster actually looks like one of those Scottish dogs, throwing a sword. Then there were vikings, globs of pudding and a triceratops that eats bombs. All in all it was pretty entertaining. The music started to get on my nerves after a while, and as I was trying to sleep, all I could hear was the Hyrule song playing through my head... Now it is the Song of Storms from Ocarina of Time.
Anyway, once Vanessa showed up, we ate some home made mac n' cheese, then Sianna showed up and we opened presents. Kyra made the best present I have ever seen, which I will post a picture of in a moment. When Liliana showed up, we started eating the chocolate fondue, and later Brittney showed up. Unfortunately, Brittney had to go home a few hours later.
Once it hit around 11, people started trickling off to bed. I think it was around one when Kyra went to bed, leaving Vanessa, Liliana and I to go play the Sims. Long story short, I made myself and albino man and a dog named Pongo Dongo.
Aright, I have to go clean up the rest of the house, because apparently when I have more than three friends over (I had six over yesterday) we end up using most of the dishes in the house. I think today will be the third load of dishes I have done since yesterday morning. But as promised, here is the picture:

The lighting is a little off, and the detail is pretty bad since it was taken with my phone. Kyra made all four of us aprons depicting characters that we represent from Legend of Zelda. On the left I am Link, Sianna is Malon, Brandi is Sheik, and Vanessa is Zelda. If I can, I'll try to get a better picture up of my apron. I also got my birthday present from Kyra, which is a picture of the Great Deku Tree and Link, but drawn to look like a scene from the Giving Tree by Shell Silverstein. It's pretty damn adorable, and very comfy. Again, I'll try to get a picture, if I remember.
Now, off to clean!

Zelda and Mario
Alright, so at the moment it feels like my brain is being pulled out through my nose, so I'm going to keep this short. And yes, that does mean that I have a cold, with a headache and a runny nose, so my creative juices are pretty low at the moment. Oh and look, now I'm starting to cough, which caused my chest to hurt.
Yesterday, after work, I headed out to my friend Kyra's house for another Zelda party. (You can tell I like Zelda, right?) I met some new people, which was cool. This time we did dress up, unfortunately we were all a little too tired to take pictures, not to mention it was raining outside. However, I dressed up as Link (of course) and Kyra and her friend Brandi dressed up as Tatl and Tayl, though I can't remember who was who. The last person, who's name has slipped my mind, didn't have time to come up with a costume.
We started out with dinner of buttered chicken, which is actually much better than it sounds, and a lot spicier. The veggies looked a little... odd, and they were even spicier, so I didn't have much. But it was good, and I had chips and goldfish to snack on.
After we started playing Twilight Princess, because Kyra was near the very end, and within about fifteen minutes Brandi finished the game. Now Kyra can start on Skyward Sword, which means learning how to fly! (She can barely control Epona, so controlling the Loftwing will be brutal)
When Twilight Princess was over, since Kyra didn't want to fly a Loftwing, we played Windwaker. We got pretty far, but there was more sailing than actual fighting. Not very eventful, and when the giant cyclone picked me up and tossed me all the way across the world, I gave up. Of course, Kyra said it was easy... I suppose if you know how to aim with a bow using a joystick.
But like I said, we were really tired, so I think we went to bed around 11:30. It was around then that my nose started to get really runny.
In the morning was McDonalds, the first time I've had it since my convocation, in 2011, so over a year ago. The hashbrowns are amazing, but I've had better pancakes... I think they needed chocolate chips.
Then it was onto Super Mario Brothers. Apparently the only thing I'm useful for in that game is stealing power-ups, bouncing on people's heads, getting in the way and making people fall into the lava/endless pit. Sorry guys, I'm not very good at that game... I just tend to bubble everywhere...
And then I got a ride home. How eventual, eh? Alright, so apparently I ramble when I'm sick. Sorry for the lame post. I'm going to go... Do nothing. Ugh.

The Grand List of Nerdiness
Oh my, I completely forgot it was Friday. =/ Although I was also busy sleeping in and working, so I've only now had the chance to type this up.
Alright, so I'm being lazy, and since school is about to start, I'm just going to have some fun with this. So here it is, my list of nerd types! (Yes, you read that right)
1) Academic Nerd: The type who takes all math or sciences classes, often four or five at a time. They spend twice as much time on homework or studying as they actually spend in class.
2) Book Nerd Also know as a bookworm. They enjoy English classes, and in some cases will aspire to become a writer or editor. They are rarely found without a book with them, and can easily hold a conversation about their favourite novels and authors.
3) Medieval Nerd: These nerds have an unusual addiction to the medieval or middle ages. They can often be found at medieval fairs or at real life roleplaying events. Even in real life, they like to have an aspect of medieval times around them, normally in the form of clothing. Despite how pathetic they may appear to everyone else, usually they are quite skilled with at least one weapon. If not, they are likely a bard, in which case a lute is quite painful to be hit with too.
4) Gaming Nerd: These will often be pale and slightly overweight from never leaving their room for sunlight or exercise. They will have almost every console and several dozen games for each, of witch they have beaten at least once. Most of these games will consist of first person shooter or something else violent. Many hard core gaming nerds will play from their 'pimped-out' computer.
5) Sport Nerds: Also known as jocks. These ones will have a heightened sense of self and finds amusement in beating others in competitive sports, whether it's as simple as badminton or as rough as American Football. Most often male, they have way too much testosterone for a sane female to find attractive. (In my opinion, at least...)
6) Gym nerds: Sometimes called gym junkies. They spend at least an hour a day at the gym, and although they claim to be happy when someone attempts to get into shape, they secretly wish that the gym was only for their own kind.
7) Stereotypical Nerd: Almost always found in cartoons, movies or TV shows, this nerd will be wearing glasses, braces, waist high pants and shiny black shoes. Quite often they are very short or unusally tall, with curly red hair and a pimply face. They are a mixture of the Academic Nerd, the Book Nerd, and sometimes even the medieval nerd, with not a trace of the Gaming, Sport or Gym nerd.
Please note that this list is purely for fun, and any coincidences toward your own life should be laughed at. I do not mean to insult anyone... Unless you are amused by being insulted. If it helps, I consider myself a Book Nerd, with a sprinkle of medieval nerd and just a tiny dash of gaming nerd (I like Legend of Zelda and any such games).
Now, I'm not feeling too great, so I'm going to leave it here. Hope you had fun reading this one.

Tattoos and Zelda
Today I learned that while sitting on the ground, I will naturally go into that 'sexy-anime' type of sitting.
Alright, now that I have gotten your attention--Or not, considering I'm pretty sure everyone who reads this is female--Unless you're some pervert. In that case... Awkward-- Anyway, today I was late for my own party.
Not a birthday party, just a Zelda party. But first my friend got her arm tattooed. We bussed out to the parlour at around 10:45, at which time I nearly missed the bus because I could have sworn she had told me 11:40 (I checked my texts, she did say 10:40). So that's how I found out yet again that I am very out of shape, and a simple quick walk to the bus stop caused me to start breathing hard.
So yada yadya yada, arm got tattooed, lots of freaking out but no tears. It looks great. I would post a picture, but I'm too lazy to take it off my phone, or to even get it off of Facebook. Maybe I'll just post a link to her blog, and maybe she'll put something up later. If you're interested, the quote says;
"The bond that links
your true family
is not one of blood
but of
love and respect"
It's perfect for her, but I won't go into details, as it's also pretty personal.
After getting that all done, it was around 1:30, and I had set the party to start around 3:30. But stupid me forgot that buses take an eternity to get anywhere. Damn buses. Besides, we had to drop by the mall to buy candy and pop, so that my guests wouldn't starve or thirst. Yeah, ends up I got home around 4:00... After two of my guests had already arrived. Luckily, my three other guests were with me at the tattoo parlour.
We had a jolly good time; two of them were drawing pictures of everyone else... or a guy from the bus... two of us were playing Skyward Sword, and the other two were just watching or doing their own thing. But hey, the lovely Kyra brought tie-dye cupcakes with different Zelda symbols in frosting. I still have two left, so maybe if I feel inclined to get off my lazy ass tomorrow, I'll eat half of one and take a picture. It was also around this time, after Kyra had drawn a picture of me, that I found out I would make a super sexy anime character. Seriously, I have that w-shaped sitting position down perfectly. You know, the one that everyone thinks is incredibly painful. Okay, I'll stop making it awkward now...
Later we switched to Ocarina of Time, but got sick of it really quickly when Link died in the Deku tree... From Deku Baba's... Apparently Ellisa doesn't know how to work a gamecube remote.
Then we switched to Windwaker so that Kyra could get me through the Hero Temple, or whatever it's called. The electric chuchu's freak me out, not to mention the raising and falling water levels. Yeah... I'm not a strong swimmer and even cartoon water like that will tend to scare me... However, once she was getting near the end, the CD somehow got ejected from the wii and the game said there was an error, therefore ruining about an hour's worth of work. She ended up taking the memory card home so she could get through it. I just hope she let's me kill all those monster's in the weird mansion under the water... Oh, and spoiler alert about that part of Windwaker...
That just about sums it up. Only Sianna is sleeping over though, because everyone else apparently has a life outside of Zelda, which they have to get back to tomorrow. *scoff*
Now, I'm going to mention something about next weeks blog. Unless something super amazing happens that I have to talk about, I'll probably be going into something a little more serious. However, it is me, and I find it very hard to be completely serious, so I'll make a joke here and there, which will also make it seem like I'm making fun of the subject from time to time. I'm saying this now; I have no intention of making fun of anything but myself. I do not mean to offend anyone, got it?
But you're probably asking why the hell should you care? You don't really need to. I'm mostly putting this here as a reminder to myself about what to write on Wednesday. It's the whole 'mind of a goldfish' thing again... Maybe I should cut down on those goldfish crackers...
BONUS
Just some pictures from my last Zelda party. I didn't take any this time because we didn't dress up... and I forgot.

Just some pictures from my last Zelda party. I didn't take any this time because we didn't dress up... and I forgot.
For anyone curious, I was Link, Sianna was Malon, Vanessa was Tetra (zelda in Windwaker) and Kyra was Aryl (Link's little sister in Windwaker)
Now, off to bed!
