Sorry for the lack of a post on Thursday last week, but I'll make up for it now! Yesterday (Monday) was my actual birthday, which I didn't celebrate with friends, since it also happened to fall on the Canadian Thanksgiving. I spent it with my family and boyfriend, which was perfect for me.
First we went out to a small little town for lunch, then wandered around for a bit, until it started to suddenly pour with rain. Unfortunately the rain still has not stopped, and my boyfriend had to walk home... One of us should really get our drivers license...
Anyway, onto the important stuff. Presents! My parents gave me a beautiful sweater, with a nifty belt and bracelet, along with a small book of poetry and a Chapters gift card. I'm sure they'll all get some good use. My sister bought me a nice water bottle, which will be useful for school. I'll stop buying bottled water now. She also got me a bag of skittles and some super comfy socks. My boyfriend got me a bluray Hobbit part two, which I'm sure will also get a lot of use, and best of all, Hyrule Warriors!
It's working it's way to becoming my favorite game ever! It's a lot of hack and slash, which is just dandy with me! So far we've mostly just been doing the main quest line, but there seems to be so much more to explore. The graphics are amazing, and the cut scenes are skippable. There's also the ability to upgrade your weapons, but we haven't really gotten far enough to play with that much. I'm sure it'll eat up a lot of my time.
Of course, tomorrow is back to school and regular life. I have a mid term in my philosophy class that I haven't studied for since Wednesday, so this should be interesting. I'll do some readings on the bus.
Maybe.

Happy List 3
Okay, it's getting late and I have nothing to really post about. So time for another quick Happy List! Here and here are the first two Happy Lists I have done.
-Looking at old blog posts and realizing I've matured in the two years that I've been writing them
-Finally getting that package in the mail that I've been waiting for
-The smell of brand new, never been worn clothing
-Finally knowing what it's like to have someone cuddle me
-Making plans with people that don't fall apart
-Not being the one in my group of friends that has to always wake up early for school or work
-Getting back into shape (a bit)
-Walking to the beat of my music
-Being able to wear my winter jacket again
-Having a jacket that actually fits me perfectly
-Reading a book that is too large to stuff into my bag, so I have to carry it around and look like an even bigger nerd
-Finding out that I'm not even as big of a nerd as I thought
-Learning new things (mostly video games) to make myself even nerdier
-When my parents no longer bug me about getting a boyfriend (though they still bring up the whole wanting grandkids thing)
Nice and short tonight, since my bedtime was nearly an hour ago. Time for sleep now!

I Didn't Get Lost!
It's always a good day when nothing goes wrong. Especially if it's the first day of school.
This is my second semester at my university, and I haven't been there since April, so I was pretty worried that I would have no idea where I was going anymore. Luckily, the bus stop was still in the same spot, there were still signs pointing to the right building, and I somehow managed to stumble across my class half an hour before it even started.
Good day.
Of course, it was pouring with rain, and I had to get a blood test done this morning. That meant I couldn't eat anything until after the test was done, and while waiting, the computer system at the clinic went down, so that added nearly half an hour to our wait. But at least breakfast was all the better when we got it.
In the end, my feet are wet and my bank account is two hundred dollars lighter (from books), but I didn't get lost, I didn't fall asleep on the bus, I made it to class on time, my arm is not sore, and I got myself a Upass. I would say the good heavily outweigh the bad.
Now I can look forward to one long day at work, another day at school, then my staycation! I can't wait to actually explore my home town. I never actually get to do any of the popular attractions around here.

Happy List Part 2
I did one of these lists a while ago as part of a small writing exercise, and I'm going to make another one. Because if you think about what makes you happy, then you will be happy, right?
-Being told you're doing a good job while by yourself during a busy time at work
-Any sort of cold beverage when you're really thirsty
-That moment when your nose unclogs during a bad cold (especially after a sneeze)
-Getting into a hot shower when you wake up sick
-Walking into an air conditioned building when it's hot outside
-That sudden drop on a roller coaster when you become air born and the only thing keeping you in the seat is a small seat belt
-Playing a new video game for the first time (and not being terrible at it)
-When you walk into a book store and just feel like you belong (or any store that strikes your fancy)
-When that book (or movie/CD) that you've been waiting ages for finally comes out
-Finding something that suits you perfectly and instantly falling in love with it
-Finding out that that thing you fell in love with is reasonably priced.
-Seeing your name published in a book
-That feeling of excitement before a big trip, when you can't sleep despite having to wake up early the next morning
-When you're left home by yourself for more than two days, and realizing you're more responsible than you originally thought.
-When your parents come home after a week of vacation and you don't have to be so responsible any more (and the dog stops howling and whining at two in the morning)
-When you get a day off work, and more than one friend also happens to have that same day off
-Finding someone who shares to same love of an author/book series/movie
-When you favourite author gets and award for a book, and for some reason you feel honoured just because you've read that same book
