Navi Dress

So I think I should just change my post days to Wednesday and Friday. It seems like the only days that I actually remember...

Anyway, a dress I bought online came in the mail today! Well, it came a few days ago, but no one was home to sign for it, so I just picked it up from the post office today. It's all the way from Latvia! And it actually took less time to get here than the shirt I ordered a few weeks ago. I tried it on as soon as I got home, and it fits perfectly! I still wear a belt around my stomach because it's rather plain, but it also reminds me of a pixie, or Navi. So I figure now I have another Zelda cosplay outfit! I just need to buy some white wings and maybe get some temporary blue hair spray, or a wig. I figure none of this will happen until Halloween, when I can get them all for cheap. But still, it's awesome. And it's still normal enough that I can wear it in public on an average day. However, it is a halter dress and therefore has no sleeves. I'll probably have to wait another month or so until it's warm enough to wear outside. As it is, I'm wearing it inside and I'm barely able to refrain from putting on another layer.

Ah, it's good to have new clothes. I went through a long dry spell when I didn't spend any money on clothes, or at least very few clothes. I did splurge around early winter to buy some work clothes...

Gracepoint

I did it again, I'm sorry. Actually, I only just got back Monday from visiting my aunt and uncle, so I actually have something to post!

While I was there, there was some filming going on in a small shopping district only a few blocks from my aunt's house. I didn't think much about it, because I had never heard of the show. My aunt had seen one of the actors in a pub, but I had never heard of him either. We watched a scene being filmed for a bit, but all we really saw were extras walking around or cars driving by. There was a police car, but other than that, nothing too interesting.

It was only when I was about ten minutes away from home that I was texting my friend and found out that the show, called Gracepoint, is a remake of the popular British mystery called Broadchurch. Not only that, but it has DAVID TENNANT in it. That means that I could have very possibly been on the same street, or at least within a kilometre of the Tenth Doctor. Had I known this on Monday before we left, I would have insisted that we stayed longer to try and find him.

From what I've read, all the filming is being done within the area, or within close by cities. I also have several family members living around there, so I might be able to get them to go out and see if they can find David Tennant. I just really want a picture...

Whoops

So I guess yesterday was Thursday, wasn't it? I have class on Thursday, so when I finally get home I'm just tired. I'll try better to get posts in on time though. For now, I'm just going to post a link to my school blog. This is because we had an assignment that we had to do that I can't duplicate here.

It's called a hypertext story, and yes, it is confusing. Basically if you follow the links on the main page, you'll read it as it should be. If you follow the links from each page, it'll get more confusing. I did try to write it so that you can pretty much start anywhere, but I still suggest starting from the beginning.

The Faux-hawk is back!

Yesterday I finally went to go get my hair cut. I think it's been over six months since I've had more than a trim. This time I went all out and cut off about 70-80 percent of my hair. It's really short now. My ears were cold today... But I did it for my aunt, who is going through breast cancer. I'm pretty sure my work wouldn't let me shave my head, so going really short was the best idea.

And yesterday I also picked up my pair of blue contacts that I ordered a little over a week ago. I haven't worn contacts in years, and when I did I always had trouble with them. I figured I should have a pair to wear when I go to amusement parks or the pool though. I tried them on this morning and they looked beautiful! I was even able to take them out without pinching my eye too much. I didn't want to wear them all day, just in case something went wrong. Besides, at that point I had not bought cleaning solution, so I only had whatever the contacts came in. I think I'll wear them on Sunday, when I don't have work.

Welcome Spring

Sun! I know I've mentioned how much I hate the summer and love the winter, but I'm starting to get sick of the cold. It's still windy, and I need my nice winter jacket if I plan on going outside, but I think it's nearly time to put my scarf and gloves away.

With his good, because now I can get my hair cut. I've been growing it out, and I recently dyed it, but I'm getting really sick of long(ish) hair... Okay, it barely even touched my shoulders, but that still means I have to put it back in a pony tail every work day. And since my bangs aren't fully grown out, I have to either clip them back, or put them in a separate pony tail. it's getting really annoying. So I'm getting it cut tomorrow. I'm excited. I'll post pictures when it's done.

And that's my rant of the day... I need to start coming up with better topics.

Tales X2!

I could have sworn I had posted something on Thursday. My memory is getting worse, I think.

Anyway, I'm super tired, so I'll just post a quick update. For my creative writing class, we had to create a blog! Unfortunately, it had to be through Wordpress, so this one doesn't count. Not to mention it'll be shared with my class mates, so that means I might actually see the reaction of people wo read this. I won't be able to hide behind the screen anymore.

But that's what this blog is for! I'll link this to the Wordpress one later, once I've figured out how to work it and make it pretty. I thought Blogger was hard to work at first, but Wordpress has so many more options and details.

Life Update

I feel like I should have a lot to post, but nothing is coming to me. So I'm just going to post a quick life update.

I'm well on my way to becoming assistant manager. I think I should be done within a couple weeks. At least, I hope so. My manager is going on vacation during spring break, so I'll be in charge. I know the important things, but it'll always be good to be done with my training.

I'm halfway done with my class. The last few assignments have been difficult, because they required the computer and fancy programs that I've either never used, or haven't used since high school (this makes me feel old...) Not to mention computers hate me, and I missed an important class because of the flu. Looks like we've moved on to short stories though, at least for now. I might post what I've written later, but it's a very short version of a longer story I'm writing.

I'm not a terrible driver anymore! I can't remember if I ever complained about driving here (I must have at some point), but I've been learning on a standard. It was much harder before because I was learning in a small car with no power steering or anything fancy. My parents got a new car though, and I've been driving it. It has power steering, which has been really nice. It's just as hard to back into a parking spot or parallel park though.

I've been wasting my time walking shows on Netflix. I found a really cool one called The Guild. It's pretty much perfect. It's a nerd show, based around a bunch of people who play an RPG. Each show is about an hour and a half long, but consists of the whole season. I was excited to see six seasons, before I realized that there was only one show in each season and I had watched them all.
I've also been watching Continuum, which is different from what I normally watch. It's cool though, because it's set in Vancouver, and as far as I know, it's the only show like that. Most shows are set in New York, or Chicago, or some other big American city.
And finally, Pokemon. It was my love when I was younger, but i rarely got to watch it because we didn't have cable. Then when we finally got cable, I was too old to watch it without being embarrassed. Now it's on Netflix, and I just don't give a shit about what other people think. It helps that a bunch of my friends are addicted with Pokemon too.
